Here is another video interview by Jia from the iTwixie team. This time we talk to Anthony Closkey about how tween girls will use the site. He feels that tweens are better at social networking then any other age group.
After watching both of these interviews I still have few questions:
With the growing popularity of Facebook is there room for a niche network like this?
What happens when the tween is no longer a tween?
Are they kicked off the site, left to start their online life over again on another social networking site?
The site has been live for awhile now so maybe these questions will be answered in time.
Last month, The Brookings Institution reported that Pittsburgh ranked in the Top 20 Cities with Economic Strength. When Robert Dye, a PNC economist, was asked why he thinks this is the case, he told reporters it is because of the increasing number of start-ups in the Pittsburgh region. Here is his exact quote:
“With UPMC being a world leader in medical services and technology, all the great startup companies we have with Carnegie Mellon, University of Pittsburgh, and the other great colleges we have in the area. Pittsburgh has that synergy between the education and the technology.”
With what I have seen since I started this blog, I would have to agree with him. Pittsburgh is well on its way to being one of the next big technology centers in the world.
